Went for my first nus orchestra rehearsal today, I was totally taken aback by...

1) The size of the orchestra. There were already 12 cellists, so imagine the total number of people...

2) The standard of the orchestra. We played 2 pieces by Rossini. It's MADNESS to the max. The same kind of feeling came back when I first joined chc orchestra... Hmm...

3) The pro-ness of the cellists... Except me. Sigh... Whined to my cello teacher and he really encouraged and talked sense into me... Thou shall persevere no matter what.

 

It's a very big challenge for me, but since I'm in it now, there's no turning back. Must improve even more now... It's quite mentally distressing but it's really an honour for me to be able to play in this orchestra...

Oh btw, I was pleasantly surprised to see my JC MATHS TEACHER playing in the orchestra too!!! (Thank God I remembered his name...) He came back as an alumni... To think that we used to make fun of him... =X

Orchestra is where people from ALL walks of life come together as one, with the same heartbeat, playing the same song. It really doesn't matter who you are or what you do.

It makes us forget about life for a while...
